Old Town Santo Domingo

Walking through the Old Town of Santo Domingo is similar to walking around Spain. If you put away the map and wander for a moment, you could easily by
in Alicante or on the shores of Southern Portugal. The Spanish heritage is romantically apparent on every side street and alleyway, and the nautical history is accurately reflected in the status as a Caribbean port town.

Here, a massive anchor stands stoically against a wall of the Museo de Las Casa Reales, a classic building of Old Town Santo Domingo which was constructed in 1511.
